As Rosewood/Ash Telecasters go, it would be hard to do better than the guitar offered here, a '59 Telecaster Relic by Masterbuilder Jason Smith. Completed in January, 2015, Jason bestowed this masterpiece of a guitar with the following specs: a very light, two piece Ash body with a three-tone-sunburst Nitrocellulose lacquer finish and medium aging; a quarter-sawn Maple neck with an oval C-shape and depth measurements of .81" at the 1st fret increasing to .93" at the 12th fret; a very dark Indian Rosewood fretboard with 9.5" radius, 6105 fret wire and 1.650" bone nut; and for electronics, two Custom Shop Nocaster single coils with modern Tele controls and wiring. This wonderful instrument has a total weight of just 6 pounds, 14 ounces.

Play this Tele and it you are quickly in love with it.  The light weight and great balance are noticed first, followed by the ease with which notes come forth. The setup is medium/low, buzz free and near effortless. Last but not least are the great tones that it gives up; it's voice being an interesting mix of Tele sounds resulting from the combination of an Ash body, Rosewood fretboard and Nocaster pickups.

This one owner guitar has seen no play that I can detect and could be sold as new.  Factory aging aside, it shows zero wear, frets included.  It  comes in it's original tweed center pocket G&G case along with the certificate of authenticity, build sheet and all the original accessories.

If you are looking for one of the best Telecasters made by the Fender Custom Shop, this near new Jason Smith Masterbuilt should be on your short list. Get yourself a great Tele at a price that is approximately $2K less than new.  Just a superb Tele here.....
